In 3 months, Iowa architect Tim Hoppe has earned $200 and a half an hour for a 3-month period, his employer confirmed.
Hoppe was a member of the Iowa Design Council for years and was awarded a degree from the Iowa Art Institute.
It wasn’t immediately clear how much he was paid.
Hoppe is also the founder and chairman of Hoppe Architects, which has been working to transform a parking lot in Ames into a multi-use pedestrian mall with a new walkway and public art.
It’s not known if Hoppe is being paid a commission.
Hoppo’s firm has been awarded $500,000 from the city of Ames to help complete the mall, which is a major step toward the city’s goal of redeveloping downtown.
He has also built a large public plaza in his new hometown.
